Anaheim Ducks News & Notes

The Ducks have been shuffling their roster around injuries. Anaheim recalled Roger McQueen from AHL San Diego on Oct. 13 ahead of a game against Calgary, with Troy Terry on injured reserve and Cutter Gauthier and Ryan Poehling listed day-to-day. McQueen, the tenth overall pick in the 2025 draft, had three goals in four games with the Gulls and was slated to center the third line between Frank Vatrano and A.J. Greer. Gauthier’s absence stemmed from an upper-body injury that ended his night early.

The blue line took another hit this week, as Anaheim placed Pavel Mintyukov on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and recalled Travis Mitchell from San Diego. Earlier this month, the fourth line carried the offense in a 5-1 win at Winnipeg, where Judd Caulfield scored his first NHL goal and added an assist, Tim Washe also posted a goal and an assist, and Jeff Malott recorded two helpers. Joel Quenneville called it “a special night for those guys.”

Philadelphia Flyers News & Notes

Philadelphia ended an 0-9 start to the season on Oct. 17, beating Ottawa 3-1 at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Porter Martone tied the game at 9:03 of the second period after stripping Senators captain Thomas Chabot in the Ottawa zone, and Matvei Michkov added a power-play goal at 18:33 to put the Flyers ahead. Chabot did not play the third period after an upper-body injury, appearing to favor his right wrist following a first-period collision with Trevor Zegras.

The roster has been shuffled around a growing injury list. Travis Konecny is on injured reserve, while Owen Tippett, Sean Couturier and Tyson Foerster have been listed day-to-day. Philadelphia recalled Alex Bump and Cole Knuble from Lehigh Valley on Oct. 19. Bump was named AHL Player of the Week after a five-goal, six-point week as the Phantoms swept three games, and he has scored in all five of his AHL appearances. Knuble has four points in six games.

Players To Watch

Cutter Gauthier — Anaheim Ducks

Gauthier put two shots on net last time out without finding the scoresheet, but the underlying work is there. Box Score Junkie has him at 53.3% Corsi-for this season with 65.5 shot attempts for per 60 across 158 minutes, and his two goals sit 1.5 below his 3.5 expected — a gap that usually closes.

Trevor Zegras — Philadelphia Flyers

Zegras scored and fired four shots last time out, matching Cole Knuble for the team lead in attempts on goal. Box Score Junkie’s 2026-27 numbers show 60.1 shot attempts for per 60 over 219 minutes, with three goals on 3.2 expected. The volume makes him a reasonable shots-on-goal play.
