Celebrate the holiday season with a festive luncheon on Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar to benefit The Country Friends (TCF) chosen charities. The theme is “The Nutcracker Suite,” after the beloved Christmas classic, featuring ballet dancers from the San Diego Ballet and local dance studios, stunning floral arrangements, and decor, including life-size nutcrackers. Guests will sip champagne and enjoy a delicious lunch in the resort’s lovely Capella Room, a news release stated.
“Please join us to kick off the holidays and give back to San Diego County nonprofits,” says Janean Stripe, president of The Country Friends, in the news release. “Since our founding in 1954, our organization has raised more than $15 million to benefit charities with a special emphasis on those providing services to women, children, the elderly, military families, and persons with disabilities.”
Event co-chairs Linda Sansone, Tamara Lafarga-Joseph, MJ Wittman, and Sydney Holland invite guests to shop for holiday gifts, clothing, jewelry, and accessories at an array of boutiques. Grand prize in the opportunity drawing is a pair of one-carat diamond earrings generously donated by Robere’s Jewelry in Del Mar and Solana Beach, and four tickets to The Nutcracker performed by the San Diego Ballet, the news release stated.
Luncheon tickets are $275 including valet parking, a glass of bubbly, and a nutcracker memento. To buy tickets, visit thecountryfriends.org or call 858-756-1192
