The Oakland Golden Grizzlies (0-2) and the Houston Cougars (2-0) meet Wednesday at Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NCAA basketball odds around the Oakland vs. Houston odds and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions for the best bets.

No. 2 Houston won 65-48 over Towson last time out Saturday, but it failed to cover as a 26-point favorite as the Under (130.5) cashed. G Kingston Flemings led the way with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while adding 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. G Milos Uzan ended up with 11 points and 6 assists, while knocking down 3 triples.

The Cougars have won both games so far, while going 0-2 against the spread (ATS). Houston has averaged 70 points per game (PPG), while allowing just 52.5 PPG with the Under cashing in both games to date.

Oakland lost 87-77 at Purdue Friday, but it covered as a 31-point underdog as the Over (160) cashed. G Ziare Wells went for 21 points with 12 rebounds and a steal in 38 minutes. Oakland also lost to Michigan 121-78 as a 24.5-point underdog Nov. 3 as the Over (157) connected.

The teams last met Nov. 22, 2011, in Houston, with no spread or total information available.

PASS.

Move along — nothing to see here.

OAKLAND +31.5 (-115) won’t be fazed going down to Space City against the No. 2 team, as it just held its own against the No. 1 team at Purdue.

Houston has failed to cover in both games to date, as it continues to play the same brand of methodical offense and suffocating defense which led it to within 2 points of a national championship last season. The Cougars just don’t roll up big points, though, so a spread like this is too hard to pass up on the underdog.

UNDER 137.5 (-110) is a solid play, cashing in both games to date, while going 8-1-1 in the past 10 games dating back to last season’s Big 12 Tournament.

Be careful not to get too carried away, though, as Oakland has hit the Over in both games to date. The Golden Grizzlies like to run, so it will be an interesting contrast in styles.
