Man dead after hit by car on Highway 180

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man is dead after being hit by a car on Monday morning on Highway 180 in Fresno.

CHP says they first received a call around 7:09 a.m. for reports of a person hit by a car on westbound Highway 180 near Cedar Avenue.

When they arrived, they found a man on the side of the road who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations show that a driver in a GMC Terrain was travelling west on Highway 180 when they hit the man who officers believe was walking on the highway.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.

The crash is still under investigation.
