BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is getting ready for a night of Halloween fun, inviting families to come together for its National Night Out celebration.

The free community event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at Stramler Park on Chester Avenue in Bakersfield.

Families can enjoy trick-or-treating, candy, games and an opportunity to meet local sheriff’s deputies while getting an up-close look at some of the department’s specialized units, including K-9 teams and air support.

Daisy Calso with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office joined Eyewitness News Mornings to discuss what families can expect, the special demonstrations and performances planned for the event, and how residents can stay connected with the department.
