SAN ANTONIO – A new chapter in Spurs basketball begins tonight as the Silver and Black take on the Sacramento Kings at the Frost Bank Center in the first game televised on CWSA under its newly announced broadcast partnership with the team.
The Spurs (1-2) are looking to build some early-season momentum against a Sacramento team still searching for its first win after three straight losses.
Tonight’s matchup also marks the beginning of a new era for Spurs fans across South Texas. Less than a week after the team announced its partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group, CWSA will air the first of 22 Spurs games scheduled for the 2026-27 season, bringing the action to fans on free, over-the-air television.
The Spurs enter tonight’s game with a 1-2 record, sitting ninth in the Western Conference, while Sacramento is still searching for its first victory after opening the season with three consecutive losses.
For San Antonio, the matchup offers an opportunity to get back to .500 early in the season and build momentum in front of the home crowd.
The Spurs have gotten balanced scoring from their young stars through the first three games of the season.
Victor Wembanyama and Dylan Harper are tied for the team lead, averaging 20 points per game, with Wembanyama also pulling down 11 rebounds per contest. Stephon Castle is right behind them at 19.3 points per game, while De’Aaron Fox is averaging 17.3 points and a team-high 8.3 assists. Harper has been particularly consistent, scoring at least 18 points in all three games, while Wembanyama has led the team in scoring twice.
The Kings, meanwhile, arrive in San Antonio at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, hoping to avoid an 0-4 start.
The Kings have struggled out of the gate, but Zach LaVine has been putting up impressive numbers, leading Sacramento with 29 points per game, including a 37-point performance in Sunday’s loss to Memphis. Rookie Darius Acuff Jr. has also made an early impact, averaging 22.3 points per game, highlighted by a 33-point outing against Portland.
Domantas Sabonis is averaging 18.7 points and a team-high 17.3 rebounds per game, while Precious Achiuwa is contributing 13.7 points. Despite the offensive production, Sacramento remains winless through its first three games.
Both teams are dealing with injuries heading into the matchup.
The Spurs will be without Jayden Quaintance, who is sidelined with a knee injury. Tobias Harris is listed as day to day with a calf injury.
Sacramento has several players on its injury report, including Ben Simmons, who is out for the season with an Achilles injury. Keegan Murray is out with an ankle injury, while Dylan Cardwell and Maxime Raynaud are sidelined with calf and knee injuries, respectively.
The recently announced broadcast schedule includes 22 Spurs games, including international matchups in Paris and Manchester.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central at the Frost Bank Center, with the game airing on CWSA.**
