Semi-truck crash causing power outage for hundreds in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Some Fresno County residents are without power Thursday morning following a crash involving semi-trucks.

It happened just after 2:30 am at Maple and American avenues.

The California Highway Patrol says a tanker and trailer crashed into a power pole.

A live wire on the ground started a small brush fire.

About 300 customers nearby are without power.

According to PG&E’s website, power should be restored before 6 am.

Both drivers are okay.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A portion of American Avenue is closed as the cleanup continues.
