FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — The Fresno County Elections Department identified a typographical printing error affecting a limited number of ballots printed.

Officials say the screen on the ballot-marking devices lists the correct contest title, Fresno Unified School District, when used by a voter residing within the jurisdiction.

However, when ballots are printed from the ballot-marking devices, the contest title is incorrectly listed as Fowler Unified School District Trustee Areas 1, 3, or 4 rather than Fresno Unified School District Trustee Areas 1, 3, or 4.

Fresno County Registrar of Voters James A. Kus says that the ballot will still record the voter’s choice correctly, and the vote is counted in the correct Fresno Unified School District Trustee contest.

No other contests on the ballot are affected.

Kus says signs will be posted at all ballot-marking devices describing the typographical printing error.

Voters eligible to vote in Fresno Unified School District Trustee Areas 1, 3, or 4 may request a ballot printed on demand at any Vote Center rather than using a ballot-marking device.

Ballots printed on demand do not show the typographical error.

Kus apologizes for any confusion or inconvenience and encourages voters with questions to contact the Fresno County Elections Department.
