SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A bicyclist was killed in a crash in south Sacramento on Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported to have happened around 5:39 p.m. on Mack Road and Stockton Boulevard.
CHP said a pickup truck was going westbound and was making a right turn onto northbound Stockton Boulevard into the right lane. CHP said the driver felt an impact to the right side of his truck and pulled into a parking lot.
With the help of a Good Samaritan, the driver pulled the rider and bike out of the lanes. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with major injuries. He later died at the hospital, CHP said.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
