SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nov. 6, 2026) – Despite erasing a two-goal deficit in the second period, the San Jose Barracuda (5-7-0-0) saw their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-2 loss to the Bakersfield Condors (4-5-1-0) on Friday night at Tech CU Arena. Jimmy Huntington and Alex Barré-Boulet each recorded a goal and an assist, while Cam Lund collected two helpers in the defeat. Eric Comrie made 22 saves for San Jose, which outshot Bakersfield 30-25, including 24-10 over the final two periods.
Bakersfield opened the scoring just 1:30 into the first period when Seth Griffith netted his second goal of the season, with assists from Daniel D’Amato and John Gormley. The Condors doubled their advantage at 15:14 as Josh Samanski scored his first of the year, on a rebound, sending Bakersfield into the first intermission with a 2-0 lead after outshooting San Jose 15-6.
The Barracuda wasted little time responding in the second period as Huntington scored his fifth goal of the season just 25 seconds after the opening faceoff, following great zone-entry puck movement. San Jose continued to apply pressure and eventually pulled even at 14:29 when Barré-Boulet buried his second goal of the year, sneaking in a five-hole shot from the left circle. However, Bakersfield regained the lead with just 1:29 remaining in the middle frame as Aku Räty scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season, giving the Condors a 3-2 advantage heading into the third.
San Jose pushed for the equalizer in the final period, outshooting Bakersfield 11-5, but couldn’t solve Samuel Jonsson, who finished with 28 saves.
Both teams were held scoreless on the power play, with San Jose finishing 0-for-2 and Bakersfield going 0-for-4. Huntington and Barré-Boulet each finished with two points, while Lund recorded his second multi-assist performance of the season. Gormley led Bakersfield with three assists.
