Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Vehicle Near LB’s Belmont Shore

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle near the Belmont Shore community in Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.

Officers were dispatched at about 11 p.m. Friday to the 6400 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near Second Street, regarding an injury collision, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when he entered the intersection of East Second Street,” police said. “The motorcyclist collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound on East Second Street. At this time, speed is being investigated as a contributing factor to this collision,’ the department added.

Arriving paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, LBPD Sgt. Laurie Barajas said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police added.
