As Southern California prepares for significant rainfall this weekend, officials and fire stations have opened up free sandbag stations across the southern region.
State officials have warned residents, especially those in the recent burn scar areas, to prepare for the heavy rain. Proof of residency is required for some sandbag distribution sites, including Altadena and Malibu.

A limited number of unfilled sandbags are available at all Cal Fire, Riverside County Fire Department stations.
