Connoisseur Media has reached an agreement to sell its Bakersfield, California stations – KLLY-FM, KKBB-FM, and KNZR-AM/FM – to Frequency Broadcasting, a locally owned company. The deal, which requires FCC approval, is expected to close early next year.
The sale is part of Connoisseur’s broader strategy to focus on markets where it can implement its proven operational playbook, following its acquisition of Alpha Media in September. “Bakersfield was a market that did not fit into our long-term plans,” said Jeff Warshaw, Connoisseur’s Founder and CEO. “We looked for a local operator that could devote the time and energy the market deserves, and we’re confident we found that in Frequency and the Hill family operation.”
Frequency Broadcasting is owned by Kaitlyn and Danny Hill, who also operate “Outlaw Country” KVLI/K240FH (1140/95.9) and hot AC “Rewind 98.1/93.5” KRWI/K228GB in Bakersfield.
“We’ve been working with Connoisseur for a while before their merger closed,” Kaitlyn Hill said. “We’re excited to acquire these stations to better serve the Bakersfield community, our hometown,” added Danny Hill.
