On weekday mornings, Nevada Sports Net will recap three big headlines of the day in its Morning Download. Read below for today’s topics.

1. Nevada football makes history in rout of San Jose State

Nevada football made history with its 55-10 rout of San Jose State on Saturday. The Wolf Pack not only snapped a 16-game Mountain West losing streak, winning its first conference game since beating New Mexico on Oct. 28. It also tied its record for most lopsided MW win. Nevada’s 45-point victory matched the margin of its 59-14 win over San Jose State in 2017 and its 69-24 win at Hawaii in 2012. The Wolf Pack also scored a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams in the same game for the first time since its 72-19 win over Portland State on Aug. 31, 2018. Nevada opened the scoring with a 66-yard pick-six from Nakian Jackson and closed it with a 99-yard kickoff return for a score from Ky Woods. In between, Nevada scored five offensive scores, including two each from Caleb Ramseur and Chubba Purdy. Safety Murvin Kenion III had three of Nevada’s five takeaways with two interceptions and a forced fumble as the team improved to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the MW. The Wolf Pack’s final two games are against Wyoming (road) and UNLV (home).

2. Wolf Pack hoops loses a pair of games in the Bay Area

The Nevada men’s and women’s basketball teams both lost a pair of games in the Bay Area over the weekend with the Wolf Pack men falling 98-83 on Saturday at Santa Clara, which made 38-of-61 shots (62.3 percent), including 12-of-25 3-pointers. The Broncos also had a 40-24 edge in the paint. Corey Camper Jr. led Nevada with 21 as the Wolf Pack (3-1) lost its first game. The team returns to action at home Tuesday against UC Davis. The Wolf Pack women lost Sunday to St. Mary’s, 56-50. Nevada trailed by 15 points with less than 3 minutes to play before a late push. Ahrray Young had a team-high 16 points as Nevada shot 37.5 percent from the field. The Wolf Pack fell to 2-2 and next hosts Alabama A&M on Friday.

3. Junior-college RB Janerious Jackson commits to Nevada

Janerious Jackson, a running back from Feather River College in Quincy, Calif., committed to the Nevada football team. Jackson also held scholarship offers from Coastal Carolina, Toledo and UTEP. The native of Atlanta has rushed for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons at Feather River, totaling 2,297 yards (7.2 ypc) and 25 touchdowns over 19 games during that period. This season, he has 1,181 yards and 20 touchdowns in nine games. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Jackson adds size to Nevada’s backfield next season, which will lose only one senior in lead back Caleb Ramseur. Jackson is the second known junior-college commit in Nevada’s 2026 class, joining Glendale (Calif.) Community College WR Zamondre Merriweather, who previously played for Boise State.
