You won’t want to miss an evening at An Eclectic Film Series to learn more about his work for Warner Brothers and as an Imagineer at Walt Disney’s Theme Parks worldwide including Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Seas, Euro Disney Paris, Disney World Florida, and Disneyland, Anaheim, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, on such favorite attractions as The Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Space Mountain rides and many more.
Kids, this evening is for you.
Imagineer Chris Biggs plans to dazzle you with visuals of his theme park installations, sculptures, original characters and stunning artwork all peppered with how it’s done as he opens up new career vistas in the world of digital design.
When Biggs first realized that he wanted to work as an artist in theme parks, he was about 15 years old.
Growing up in Los Angeles, he went to Disneyland & Knotts Berry Farm a lot.
He started sculpting in high school and discovered his primary interest was in manipulating the human face through the art of makeup and special effects. By the age of 20, he was working for Roger Corman.
“At the ‘School of Corman,’” Biggs explained, “one does a little bit of everything including rotoscoping, working in the model shop and assisting in the camera and art departments, particularly, special effects, prosthetics and monsters.”
Notable projects included several of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise films, the “Critters” franchise, and the H.P. Lovecraft cult-film “The Unnamable.”
This led him to join Disney and become a significant contributor to Disney’s theme parks worldwide to help “Make the Magic.”
An Eclectic Film Series is thrilled to introduce Biggs to the Tehachapi community at Fiddlers Crossing, 206 E. F St., Tuesday, Nov. 25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The screening begins at 7 p.m. Q&A and discussion to follow. Tickets: $10. Reservations recommended. Call or text 818-427-5650.
