(FOX40.COM) — A man accused of shooting at vehicles in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon was arrested, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 3 p.m., SCSO responded to Madison Avenue and College Oak Drive for reports of a man shooting at vehicles. Witnesses told deputies the suspect had fled on foot after firing at a vehicle.

Sacramento deputies investigate man shooting at cars, avoid area

SCSO said it established a perimeter and, with assistance from a helicopter and K9, found the suspect running close to a nearby apartment complex. After a brief struggle, deputies said he was detained and confirmed to be the shooter. They reportedly used surveillance video to identify him.

According to SCSO, no injuries were reported from the shooting. The suspect, Dijah Williams, 20, was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail. Deputies said he is a known gang member.
