With Thanksgiving approaching and many wallets feeling the squeeze, access to a warm holiday meal is more important than ever. Luckily, communities across Los Angeles are stepping up with free Thanksgiving dinners, grocery boxes, and grab-and-go plates for anyone who needs support. Keep in mind that most of these free food giveaways are first-come, first-served. From neighborhood pantries to festive pop-ups serving hot meals, Angelenos have plenty of welcoming places to find nourishment and holiday cheer.
Here are some spots offering free Thanksgiving meals this season:
El Camino College Warrior Pantry
El Camino College’s campus food pantry will be hosting three days of Thanksgiving food giveaways from Tuesday, Nov. 18, to Thursday, Nov. 20. The annual Harvest Festival event at the Warrior Pantry promises “holiday dinner bags,” gift cards and services for housing, employment and county services for the first 800 students to show up. Students should register here.

Christy’s Foundation Thanksgiving Turkey & Grocery Giveaway
This holiday season, Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program is hosting their Annual Thanksgiving Turkey & Grocery Giveaway, providing thousands of pounds of food, fresh produce, and turkeys to local families across the San Fernando Valley.
📅 When: Thursday, November 20 from 10 AM – 2 PM and Wednesday, November 26 from 8 AM – 2 PM
📍 Where: Northridge Fashion Center Mall, 9301 Tampa Ave, Unit 46, Northridge, CA 91324
500 East L.A. families will get free Thanksgiving meals this Friday.

The Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA is hosting its 11th annual “Fiesta para La Comunidad” turkey giveaway at Mariachi Plaza. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., attendees will receive a free turkey and Thanksgiving tote bag, while supplies last. Those interested in donating food or volunteering with the YMCA can sign up here.

Victory Outreach Boyle Heights: Free Turkey Giveaway
Victory Outreach Boyle Heights, located in East LA, will also be giving away free turkeys to the community from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. About 400 turkeys are given out every year on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one turkey is allowed per household. The church also welcomes turkey donations, which can be dropped off in person anytime until Friday, Nov. 21.

The Sisters of Watts Thanksgiving Community Feeding is blessing the community with hot Thanksgiving meals, love, and celebration. Plus, enjoy a live DJ and praise dancers lifting the spirit.

Mr. Fries Annual Turkey Giveaway
Free turkeys will be given directly to local families during the Turkey Drive Giveaway.

Jenni Rivera Love Foundation: Thanksgiving Giveaway
The Jenni Rivera Love Foundation is giving back to single mothers and low-income families through its Blessings & Abundance Thanksgiving Giveaway. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Los Tacos. Attendees will receive a turkey and a box of food that includes “traditional and Latin favorites.” Participants should register here.

Hollenbeck Youth Center: Turkey Giveaway
The “Miracle on 1st Street” turkey giveaway at the Hollenbeck Youth Center returns for its 44th year. Starting at 9 a.m., families will be given fresh produce and shelf-stable items along with a turkey to ensure they can make a full holiday meal. Some turkeys will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event, but online registration is recommended.

S&L Cares Thanksgiving Food Giveaway in L.A.
Thanksgiving groceries are available to any family in need this holiday season.
