Large Boulder causes closure of Highway 178

Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) — California Highway Patrol is reporting that Highway 178 is closed due to a large boulder blocking the roadway.

The closure was first reported at 2:57 a.m. just east of the mouth of the Kern River Canyon.

Cal Trans says the closure impacts both ends of the canyon.
