TOGETHER TO FILL IN ESPECIALLY GREAT NEED NOW. TURKEY TIME. ALL AROUND TOWN WE GOT GOOD SALAD HERE. WE EVEN GOT DESSERT. WE GOT GOOD ROLLS. WE GOT A TURKEY FOR ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS. I’M GOING TO TRY TO BAKE IT. I HOPE THEY LIKE IT. WHETHER IT’S A NEED FOR NOURISHMENT IN NATOMAS. AND I THINK WE’RE GOING TO BE ECLIPSING OVER A THOUSAND FAMILIES. AND WHAT WE HAVE SEEN IS THERE HAS BEEN LONGER LINES OR FILLING BELLIES ON BROADWAY AT THE SHAKUR CENTER, WE FEED PEOPLE CONSISTENTLY AS A PART OF OUR DEMONSTRATION TO SHOW OUR LOVE AND COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY AND WHAT WE BELIEVE IN. COMMUNITY MEMBERS TRYING TO KEEP NEIGHBORS FROM GOING HUNGRY. AND SO I’M JUST PICKING UP FOOD FOR MY NEIGHBORS WHO ARE ON BIKES OR DON’T HAVE A CAR OR, YOU KNOW, OR HEALTH ISSUES, AND THEY CAN’T GET OUT AND GET IT, BUT NEED FOOD. THE LINES FOR JOEY’S FOOD LOCKER ARE SO LONG. AT NATOMAS HIGH SCHOOL. SUBARU, IF YOU’RE COMING THIS WAY, WAIT THERE. TRAFFIC COPS SET UP AT BUSY INTERSECTIONS. SINGLE MOM TIFFANY STOKES DECIDED NOT TO WAIT IN HER CAR AND WALKS IN SO SHE CAN FEED HER SEVEN CHILDREN AND GRANDSON AT FOUR. TEENAGE BOYS LIKE THEY LIKE TO EAT. SO. THIS IS SO HELPFUL AND I CAN STRETCH IT OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH THEM BEING OUT OF SCHOOL FOR A WHOLE WEEK. IT’S A LOT AND THE STRUGGLE IS REALLY REAL. BUT STOKES SAYS RECEIVING HELP FILLS HER HEART. EVEN THOUGH MY SITUATION ISN’T THE BEST, THERE’S PEOPLE THAT ARE WORSE SITUATIONS THAN ME, SO I’M JUST GRATEFUL THAT I’M ABLE TO RECEIVE HELP, THAT THEY’RE ABLE TO HELP. AND THAT I’M STILL HERE BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, TOMORROW IS A PROMISE. HAPPY THANKSGIVING IN NATOMAS MICHELLE BANDUR KCRA THREE NEWS.
