(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department found and arrested Geoffrey Haenggi, 41, of Sacramento, for the alleged hit-and-run incident that killed a pedestrian in October.

According to Sacramento police, Haenggi has been booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony hit-and-run charges, as well as numerous firearm-related charges.
At this time, it is unknown whether Haenggi is available for bail.
Just after 5 a.m. on Oct. 25, officers received reports of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash near Florin Road and 24th Street in South Sacramento, SPD said. However, when fire personnel arrived, they pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene

The Sacramento police shared that the evidence showed that there may have been two vehicles involved in the crash. However, both vehicles left before the police arrived.
Due to the incident, the Major Collision and Crime Scene Investigators started to process the scene and interview witnesses, SPD said.
No reports have been released on whether driving under the influence was a factor in the crash.
Sacramento police shared on social media, “Thanks [to] the tedious and dedicated work of our Major Collision Investigators.”
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin has been notified.
