WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump said he would like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to resume her political career at some point, on Saturday. This statement comes despite the recent fallout between them.
Trump’s comment also comes a day after Greene announced that she would resign from her office in January.
In a brief phone interview with NBC News, Trump said, “It’s not going to be easy for her” to return to politics, though he added, “I’d love to see that.”
Trump added, “She’s got to take a little rest.”
In recent weeks, Greene has become more vocal about the differences between her thoughts on his policies and priorities. Greene noted that Trump was devoting what Greene believed to be excessive time and attention to foreign leaders, rather than to the concerns of everyday Americans.
She has also been a strong advocate for releasing the Epstein files, which Trump has opposed several times.
Trump has lashed out at Greene over the change in her attitude towards him, even calling her a “traitor.”
