BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — For the first time since the first half of this month, Kern County is expecting an extended period of dry weather – lasting more than several hours!

Pacific ridging will develop eastward into southcentral California keeping the storm track away for much of this new week ahead. Daytime temperatures will slowly inch upward but are expected to fall just short of average, yet again.

With all the recent rains, longer nights and clearer skies in the mid to upper atmosphere the stage could be set for repeated rounds of Tule Fog. This is the time of year for this local weather phenomenon and there will certainly be no shortage of moisture for the ground-level air layer to work with, to say the least. Will all other parts of the atmosphere line up for this to happen? Until late week that will be the daily weather drama around here.
