In honor of Diane Keaton’s passing on October 11th, AMC Theatres has announced it will bring two of her most beloved films back to the big screen for one week only. Beginning on October 17th, fans can catch these classic Diane Keaton films—Annie Hall (1977) and Something’s Gotta Give (2003)—in 100 cinemas across the U.S., including her hometown of L.A.
Over a career spanning six decades, Keaton first stole America’s heart in Annie Hall, winning an Oscar for Best Actress for her performance as the quirky, free-spirited title character alongside Woody Allen. Decades later, she returned to the spotlight in Nancy Meyers’ Something’s Gotta Give as Erica Barry, proving that her wit and enduring charm only grew with time.

A true Angeleno and self-proclaimed “California child,” the actress developed a lifelong love for Los Angeles. In fact, she spent much of her adulthood fighting to preserve and restore the city’s architectural landmarks. “I’ll never understand why architecture is considered a second cousin to painting and film,” she wrote in a Los Angeles Times op-ed, advocating for the stories embedded in the city’s historic buildings.
As a board member of the L.A. Conservancy for nearly two decades, her activism included efforts to save sites such as the Ennis House, the Century Plaza Hotel, and the long-lost Ambassador Hotel.
