BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A Kern County jury has convicted a man, Deandre Weston, on multiple charges related to underage sex crimes against a minor, following a trial that began on Sept. 10, 2025.
Weston was found guilty of two counts of oral copulation of a child under 10, two counts of sexual penetration with a child under 10, and one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
The crimes allegedly happened over four years, from 2017 to 2021, during which Weston repeatedly molested the victim, who was between the ages of 6 and 10. The victim reported the abuse to a school teacher, leading to an investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department and Weston’s subsequent arrest.
District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer stated, “Laws against child sexual abuse reserve the most serious punishments for those that target the youngest, most vulnerable victims. Weston’s years-long pattern of abuse warrants a life prison commitment, which he is expected to receive when sentenced.”
Weston faces up to 120 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for Nov. 12, 2025.
