BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Six homeless encampments were cleared, and six arrests were made on Union Avenue on Monday, following several complaints from nearby residents.

The Bakersfield Police Department Impact Team, in collaboration with the City of Bakersfield’s Code Enforcement Rapid Response Team and the Animal Control Unit, responded to the complaints on Nov. 24, 2025.

The encampments were located in the 800 and 900 blocks of Union Avenue. Five of the arrests were for alleged squatting, and three dogs were rescued during the operation.

Bakersfield police ask residents to report non-emergency issues related to homelessness to Community Vitality.
