BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A Del Oro High School walk-on band coach has pleaded not guilty to six felony counts related to an alleged sexual relationship with a student, according to the Kern County Superior Court website.

Court records show that Salvador Fabian entered his plea on Nov. 25.

Fabian was charged last Thursday with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor more than three years younger, two counts of sexual penetration of a foreign object on a victim under 18, oral copulation by a person over 21 with a person under 16, arranging a meeting with a person under 16, and lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14.

Fabian was arrested on Oct. 28, 2025, by the Bakersfield Police Special Victims Unit after reports of a suspected inappropriate relationship at Del Oro High School. At the time, the Kern High School District confirmed his employment as a walk-on band coach and placed him on administrative leave. The district has not yet commented on his current employment status.

Court records show that a warrant was issued on Nov. 20 for his arrest for failing to appear in court. He was rearrested and is due in court for hearings on Dec. 8 and 9.
