A 10-year-old who was left critically injured after getting hit by a bullet in a home in Baldwin Park died Tuesday, authorities said. Two adults were also killed in this incident.
Officers responded to a call of a suspicious person, possibly a dead person, at the Baldwin Park residence located on the 12700 block of Royston Street on Nov. 17, when it was close to 5 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
When deputies arrived, three surviving victims told authorities about a shooting that had taken place in the home. Officers entered the house and found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
The two adults, identified as Yulan Wang and her Qiufu Jiang, both 61, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The 10-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to homicide investigators, the suspect, identified as Qihao Jin, 35, targeted his estranged wife’s family. That day, he entered the residence and shot the victims. Jin fled the location and was later found in his vehicle with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Anaheim.
The estranged wife was not home at the time of the shooting, and the three surviving victims who contacted authorities were uninjured.
