FRESNO, Calif (FOX26) — The California Highway Patrol is reminding drivers that this week is one of the busiest travel times of the year and that things can go wrong on our roads very quickly.

Just a moment of distraction, inattention, or complacency can lead to tragedy.

CHP says the driver of a Mercedes failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a truck at the intersection.

The crash happened at Temperance and North Avenues southeast of Fresno.

CHP says the truck was traveling on North Avenue, which does not have a stop sign, and had the right of way.
