SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man is facing eight years in prison after being convicted of selling drugs in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, prosecutors said.
A jury convicted Gabriel Eliseo Sequeira Garcia, 27, of multiple counts of possession for sale or purchase of fentanyl and cocaine base, possession of controlled substances in jail and violating a court stay-away order, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
“This case is an example of why my office must remain vigilant in holding drug dealers accountable,” San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said in a statement Wednesday. The verdict sends a message that San Franciscans recognize the seriousness of these crimes and the toll that they take on our community.”
Garcia was arrested in 2023 after a sting operation by the San Francisco Police Department, according to prosecutors.
During the “buy-bust” operation, Garcia sold an undercover officer two grams of cocaine base for $15, prosecutors said. When officers arrested him, they found more cocaine base on him, prosecutors said.
While in jail in 2024, officers found three grams of meth hidden in Garcia’s underwear, authorities said. It’s unclear how he got the drugs into the jail.
The 27-year-old was out of jail after being issued a stay-away order, but he violated the judgment and was arrested again in 2025, authorities said. During the arrest, officers found in possession of drugs, including 14 grams of cocaine base, authorities said.
Garcia will be sentenced on Oct. 30, prosecutors said.
