Pedestrian hit, killed while crossing Marconi Avenue in Arden-Arcade, CHP says

A pedestrian was killed on Thursday after they were hit by a vehicle while crossing a road in Arden-Arcade, according to the California Highway Patrol. Crews responded to the crash before 2 p.m. on Marconi Avenue just west of Burnece Street. CHP said a woman was crossing Marconi Avenue from north to south when she was hit by a Toyota. She died from her injuries.CHP traffic logs indicate the woman was walking a dog when she was struck. It’s unclear what may have happened to the dog. Officials have not shared further details about the collision, but said DUI was not suspected.
