The run of 16 decreases in 17 days to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended Friday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.729.

The average price dropped 15.8 cents over the run, including 1.4 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped 13 consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The streak of decreases followed a 12-day streak of increases totaling 26.4 cents that boosted the average price to its highest amount since April 10.

The average price is 6.2 cents less than one week ago, but 10.1 cents more than one month ago and 28.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.764 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $4.652, the 17th decrease in 18 days. It dropped 12 consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.

The Orange County average price has dropped 20.2 cents over the past 18 days, including 1.8 cents Thursday. It is 7.2 cents less than one week ago but 8.2 cents more than one month ago and 28.3 cents higher than one year ago.

The streak of decreases began one day after an 11-day streak of increases totaling 28.6 cents which boosted the Orange County average price to its highest amount since April 9.

The Orange County average price has dropped $1.806 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.022. It has dropped 7.8 cents over the past eight days, including 1.6 cents Thursday.

The streak of dropping national prices follows a four-day streak of increases totaling 2.8 cents.

The national average price is 7.2 cents less than one week ago, 2.2 cents lower than one month ago and 4.3 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.994 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
