SAN ANTONIO – A suspect is behind bars after allegedly charging at officers through a chain-link fence and biting one of them.
Around 2 a.m. on Friday, police were called to the scene of a disturbance near the corner of Golden Crown Drive and King Heiro Drive, on the Southeast Side.
Police say that upon their arrival and attempting to make contact, the suspect allegedly charged through a chain-linked fence and started to fight with officers.
During that altercation, the suspect allegedly bit one of the officers, breaking skin. It would later be concluded that the suspect was heavily intoxicated.

The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested for assault on a peace officer. This is still an active investigation with information subject to change.
