An overturned big rig is blocking freeway traffic Monday morning in Sacramento.

The big rig is on its side and blocking the eastbound Interstate 80 connector to Interstate 5. Southbound I-5 traffic is being allowed, and motorists are trickling through, but no traffic is making its way through the I-80 connector lane to I-5.

Traffic logs from the California Highway Patrol indicate that a Sigalert is in effect, which is issued when extended traffic delays or closures are expected. CHP’s traffic logs also state that a tow truck has been requested and is en route.

Westbound I-80 lanes are not affected by the crash.
