The Fresno State Bulldogs ended the regular season on Nov. 29 with a 41-14 victory over the San Jose State Spartans.

The Bulldogs defense forced five turnovers, while the rushing attack gained more than 230 yards to help the Bulldogs earn the win and improve to 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the Mountain West Conference. 

Elijah Gilliam led the Bulldogs with nine carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns, while Hanford native Brandon Ramirez had 11 carries for 47 yards and one touchdown. 

Quarterback EJ Warner had 138 yards and one touchdown, while receiver Josiah Freeman had six catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. 

The Bulldogs defense was led by Jayden Davis who had five tackles and one interception.  Simeon Harris had two interceptions, while Al’zillion Hamilton and Ethan Tierney each had one.

Fresno State will now wait to find out where they will head for a bowl game.

Bulldogs basketball fall in return to Selland ArenaIt was a special day at Selland Arena on Nov. 30 as the Fresno State men’s basketball team returned to the Arena they played decades in for a game against Cal State Bakersfield. 

The Bulldogs, playing in front of a season high 4,374 fans, lost an 11-point lead with nine minutes left and fell to Cal State Bakersfield 76-71.

“I’m just disappointed for the fans,” head coach Vance Walberg said. “We’ve been playing pretty darn good basketball, and today we kind of laid an egg.” 

Jake Heidbreder had 20 points to lead Fresno State.

The Bulldogs will now travel to play Arkansas on Saturday, Dec. 6. There next home game will be on Dec. 30 against Utah State at the Save Mart Center.
