SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — West Coast residents, including those in Southern California, may be able to see the next SpaceX rocket launch on Monday night.
SpaceX is expected to launch the Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County.
The rocket launches are conducted to deploy more Starlink satellites into orbit. Starlink bills itself as the “world’s most advanced satellite constellation using a low orbit to deliver broadband internet.”
How to watch the last supermoon of the year
Monday’s launch is expected to begin at 9:28 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, with a four-hour launch window. To see a full list of upcoming launches, visit SpaceX’s website.
The mission will deploy 27 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit, the website states.
Because Vandenberg is an active military base, the public is not allowed on-site to view the launches. However, if weather conditions are favorable, people in San Diego County may be able to spot the Falcon 9 rocket as it launches into the sky.
A live webcast of the launch will begin about five minutes before liftoff which may be viewable on SpaceX’s website or on its X/Twitter account.
