A man who was previously arrested twice for inappropriate behavior at businesses in Burbank has been arrested after a parole and sex-registrant compliance check in Glendale.
Calese Crowder, 38, was arrested Nov. 24 at after failing to meet an annual sex-offender registration requirement for more than two months, Glendale police told NBC4 Investigates. The Glendale Police Department Assaults Unit arrested Crowder, dubbed by authorities as “butt-sniffer,” at his residence.
Crowder is on parole for a burglary. The department placed a parole hold on Crowder, which does not allow for bail. Inmates under a parole hold usually remain in custody until they’re released through the parole process or a judge’s order.
Crowder was charged Nov. 26 with failure to update registration annually, a misdemeanor.
“The Glendale Police Department remains committed to public safety by continuously and proactively conducting compliance checks on individuals on probation, parole, and those required to register as sex offenders with searchable conditions,” said Sgt. Mike Pobokhian. “These efforts hold individuals accountable to legal requirements and allow for swift enforcement when violations are identified. Proactive policing efforts such as this are one of the many ways we diligently try to keep Glendale safe.”

In August, Crowder was arrested again after allegedly sniffing a woman’s behind inside a Walgreens store in Burbank.
