BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A semi-truck has crashed into two power poles near Mohawk Street, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The department stated that officers responded to the crash in the 2100 block of Mohawk Street. Investigators reported that the vehicle was traveling north when it left the road and struck two power poles.
The crash caused the power lines to fall across the road. PG&E has responded to assess the damage.
The department says that alcohol, drugs, and speed were determined not to be factors in the crash.
The road between Walker Trail and Rosedale Highway will remain closed for much of the day.
According to the PG&E outage map, 32 customers are without power.
