If you believe the Detroit Red Wings’ goaltending is cause for worry, consider the plight of the Anaheim Ducks.
The Ducks are exceeding expectations with a 16-9-1 record and a first-place standing in the Pacific Division. Goalie Lukas Dostal (11-5-1, 2.81, .904) played a big role in their rise this season. But he was injured on Friday, and then his backup, ex-Red Wings player Petr Mrazek, was injured two days later.
Anaheim goaltender Petr Mrazek leaves with the game an apparent injury.
He’s unfortunately dealt with groin issues in the past, hopefully it’s not that but he’s clearly in discomfort and has exited. #Blackhawks pic.twitter.com/4UhOkqu4pz

What that all means is that another former Red Wings player, Ville Husso, is now the man entrusted to keep the party going. He started this season with the AHL San Diego Gulls.
Husso is holding his own thus far as the temporary starter.
The veteran Finn goalie is 2-1 in three games since joining the Ducks with a 2.70 goals-against average and an .880 save percentage. He beat the St. Louis Blues 4-1 in his last outing.
Dostal (upper body) is expected to be out for two to three weeks. No word yet on Mrazek’s timetable.

Coach Todd McLellan is taking notice of the Grand Rapids Griffins’ incredible start.
Defenseman Moritz Seider doesn’t believe the Detroit team needs a tough guy.
Should the Red Wings be considering a Sebastian Cossa promotion or audition?
