It isn’t too much of a reach to soapily suggest that Christmastime and lather-producing implements are a clean and classic duo.

Start with the scented soap sets that we often gift friends, and the old-school soap-on-a-ropes that make their way into our parents’ stockings.

And coming across a full-on drift filled with soap flakes? Christmas movies of the past relied on some creative ways to fashion a realistic pile of frosty snow.

That said, we don’t often encounter a mash-up involving a car wash, one of the soapiest spots around, and the holiday season. But for those Southern Californians seeking a Santa sighting, and a solid soap-up for their wheels, will have a place to go for both this holiday season.

It’s the Carwood Car Wash in Lakewood, which will transform into the Christmas Car Wash on select December dates.

Oodles of lights, numbering in the thousands, will give this drive-through experience plenty of dazzle, as will cameos by the classic characters of the yuletide, including Santa and a few festive elves.

Christmas Car Wash

Soap, sparkle, and spirited seasonal fun: The Christmas Car Wash opens in Lakewood Dec. 5.

Those rolling through the Christmas Car Wash will have hot chocolate to enjoy as well as the chance to pose for a picture with the Jolly Old Elf.

And, yes, enjoy a gleaming car, which is lovely thing, especially before all of those holiday drives to the various homes of far-flung relatives.

One ticket covers the whole car, so fill up the auto with your quirkiest buds or family members (just make sure everyone has a seatbelt: safety first).

If the Carwood seems frightfully familiar to you, you may know it from its atmospheric October appearances when it transforms into the Haunted Car Wash.

Nothing is spooky, though, about Kris Kringle and his crew putting in some fresh facetime at the Christmas Car Wash, one of the season’s soapiest, soggiest, and sparkliest spots to get A) some instant cheer and B) an errand completed.
