BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 49-year-old man is accused of luring two teens to a hotel room where he drugged and raped a 14-year-old girl, authorities say in a court filing.

Christopher Michael Nelson allegedly gave the girl methamphetamine then engaged in multiple sex acts, according to a probable cause declaration.

He’s also accused of groping a 15-year-old girl and preventing her from leaving the room, the filing says.

Nelson was ordered held on more than $3 million bail following his arraignment Tuesday. Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf to 11 felony counts, including raping a drugged victim and kidnapping to commit rape.

He’s due back in court Dec. 12.

According to the declaration, Nelson on Nov. 26 lured the girls to a hotel in the 3600 block of Wible Road after sending text messages in which he agreed to buy a nicotine vape.

Police found Nelson and the 14-year-old in the room, according to the filing. She appeared to be under the influence of a drug and was taken to a hospital, where her heart rate measured at about 140 beats per minute at rest, far above normal, the filing says.
