Authorities have named a person of interest after the discovery of human remains at a San Diego property prompted an ongoing investigation by police and prosecutors, authorities said.

In a news release, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office said 74-year-old Dwight William Rhone, a previous tenant at the property, is a person of interest in the investigation.

The case began with an investigation by California Highway Patrol detectives, who suspected human remains were on the property in the Southcrest neighborhood, San Diego police said.
