Library support group looking for donations

The collectibles donation team of the Friends of Canyon Hills Library is in need of items for the glass display cases at Canyon Hills Library. The nonprofit organization is accepting donations of dishes, glassware, fine china, jewelry, purses, wallets, household items, figurines, holiday and decorative items that will then be displayed and available for purchase.

Money earned from these collectibles, as well as from flash book sales, enable the Friends group to provide various programs for children and adults, fund author visits, purchase equipment and supply raffle prizes for children’s reading programs and refreshments for monthly book discussions.

The group continues to accept books, toys, puzzles and games for its flash sales and book nook in the front corner of the library. All donations are accepted at the Canyon Hills branch and may be dropped in the bin for book donations or given to the library front desk, which will get them to the donations cart. All donations are appreciated.

The next flash sale will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 24 in the library’s Multipurpose Room.
