FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — One person is dead following a car crash on a Fresno highway.
The incident happened on Highway 99 just near Highway 180 around 10:30 pm Wednesday.
The California Highway Patrol says a Nissan Sentra traveling south on Highway 99 made an unsafe turn and traveled down the embankment.
The car crashed into a sign pole, and the force caused the vehicle’s engine to separate.
It landed on the south lanes and was hit by three passing cars, which caused minor injuries to those drivers.
First responders rushed the driver of the Sentra to a hospital, where he died.
It’s not yet known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
