BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested after allegedly vandalizing the newly installed Snow Globe in Tehachapi with graffiti.
The Tehachapi Police Department said on Monday, December 1, 2025, the department was notified by the Public Works Department of gang graffiti on the newly installed Snow Globe located in Railroad Park.

The graffiti was painted on the inside wall of the Snow Globe, which was installed for community members and visitors to take holiday photographs while enjoying the downtown area and upcoming holiday events.
Police said the vandals did not notice the Snow Globe was under video surveillance, which allowed officers and other City of Tehachapi employees to review camera footage and begin identifying suspects.
According to police, it was determined that the graffiti vandalism happened on Sunday, November 30th, 2025. According to the city’s social media page, the display just opened to the public only three days prior on Thanksgiving.
A search warrant was authored by the police department and served at a home in the 21300 block of Golden Hills Boulevard.
Three people were arrested. They were identified as 36-year-old Stephanie Vasquez of Golden Hills, 22-year-old Arthur Gradias of Moreno Valley, and a 16-year-old teenage boy from Golden Hills.

Police said additional cases involving the alleged suspects will be completed and sent to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for review. The two adult suspects were booked into the Kern County Jail, Lerdo Facility, and the juvenile was booked into James G. Bowles, Youth Detention Center.
In a release, it said, “The City of Tehachapi Police Department is committed to maintaining a safe and happy holiday for our citizens, visitors and business owners. We would like to remind everyone that during the holiday, secure your residence and your belongings. Lock your vehicle and do not leave items in plain view. Please do not make yourself a victim of crimes of opportunity and report all suspicious behavior.”
It furthermore said, “We will not allow the Grinch to steal Christmas here in our wonderful community.”
