The Lafayette Police Department is honoring its Student of the Month for October!
Sophia from Oakland Elementary was presented with her award by the Mayor, City Clerk and LPD.
The department says Sophia demonstrates kindness, respect and perseverance.
They say she always tries her best, makes positive choices and shows grit.
Sophia is a multilingual learner and works hard on her academics while supporting her classroom.
