OAKLAND, Tenn. – A sergeant with the Memphis Police Department has been arrested in Oakland on multiple charges, including evading arrest and child endangerment, police said.
The Memphis Police Department confirmed to FOX13 Thursday that Oakland Police are conducting an investigation into MPD Sergeant Christopher Currie, who was arrested Tuesday on charges of domestic assault, evading arrest, child endangerment, resisting arrest, and stop sign violation. The charges came following what police called a “domestic altercation with a female acquaintance.”
Memphis Police said they have opened an internal investigation into the matter, and Sergeant Currie has been relieved of duty until further notice.
