The case against a Pontiac woman charged with three counts of second-degree child abuse after officials said her kids were found living “in deplorable condition” is bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court.

At a hearing Dec. 4 in 50th District Court, Teriomas Johnson, 31, waived a preliminary exam and the judge advanced the case to the higher court for possible trial.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responding to an apartment on South Francis Street for a possible break-in — determined to be unfounded — discovered the place littered with human and animal feces, trash and rotten food. The apartment had no working plumbing and clogged sinks, the sheriff’s office said, and it appeared the children — a 12-year-old girl, a 9-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy — had been defecating in a cardboard box. It’s also believed Johnson frequently left the children home alone, and their attendance at school was sporadic, the sheriff’s office said.

Three cats were also living in the apartment, the sheriff’s office said.

Children’s Protective Services has placed the children with their biological fathers, the sheriff’s office said.

Johnson is in the Oakland County Jail denied bond. Initially, bond had been set at $250,000, but at her arraignment in 50th District Court last month, via Zoom, Magistrate Angelena Thomas-Scruggs revoked the bond after Johnson threw a chair and yelled an expletive at her..

Arraignment in Oakland County Circuit Court is scheduled for Dec. 16.

Johnson is on probation for first-degree retail fraud, fourth-degree fleeing and eluding, and fourth-degree child abuse out of 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills, in 2024. Two of her kids were in the car when she fled from police, the sheriff’s office said.
