At least one teen was killed and more than a dozen people were detained following an officer-involved shooting in Anaheim overnight, authorities confirmed Sunday morning.
The shooting happened around 9:32 p.m. Saturday when the Anaheim Police Department’s Gang Enforcement Unit was dispatched to a residence near 800 S. Philadelphia Street, officials said.
Details remain limited, and police did not immediately say what led to the confrontation or why the unit responded to the home — though it was possibly gang-related. Investigators said only that multiple subjects were encountered at the residence, and an officer-involved shooting occurred shortly after officers arrived.
One individual, described only as a 19-year-old male, was struck during the shooting and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Police also confirmed that at least one firearm was recovered.

More than a dozen additional subjects were detained from inside the house, and officers used less-lethal force on another person, who was transported in unknown condition. No officers were injured, and police said no outstanding suspects remain.
Footage from the scene showed a significant law enforcement response blocking a portion of the residential street as officers secured the area and processed evidence.
The Anaheim officer-involved shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Anaheim Police Department.
