California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain how his policy proposals are aimed at making life more affordable for working-class residents of the Golden State.

“We have higher gas prices in California than Hawaii, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, even though we have abundant oil reserves. The whole focus of my campaign is helping working class Californians. They’re the people being screwed the most. And I think exactly of those people who drive their cars and trucks hours every day. I remember sitting down up it’s up in Chico with a guy who’s, you know, driving his truck and I laid out my plan. The first policy that I announced in my campaign was three-dollar gas. Now I know everyone listening around the country thinks what’s so good about that?  We have less than that. In California, that’s like Nirvana because we’ve got five-dollar gas, you know, whatever, heading higher. Anyway, this guy, when I said three-dollar gas, literally like straight he came straight back to me. That’ll save me whatever, like a hundred and fifty dollars a week, something like that. He knew the numbers exactly, because he knows exactly how much he spends. Because it’s for working people in California. That’s an absolutely central part of their cost.”
