SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 26-year-old woman was seriously injured Thursday after being struck by a car while crossing a road near San Diego State University, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 6500 block of Montezuma Road in the College East neighborhood.
Police say the woman was crossing mid-block from south to north when she was hit by a 28-year-old man driving a Honda Accord eastbound in the far left lane.
The pedestrian suffered multiple serious injuries, including a fractured hip pelvic fracture, broken sacrum, femur fracture, and an 8-inch laceration to her head. Despite the extent of her injuries, police say they are not believed to be life-threatening.
